HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – iSurf News was on the scene this morning as the remains of a smashed truck was being pulled from the ditch beside Highway 70 West. The timing of the incident has not been released. The wreck took place at mile marker 1 on the Muhlenberg side of the Hopkins/Muhlenberg County line.

According to police officials on the scene, the truck had accidentally dropped off the shoulder of the road. The driver was apparently unable to get the vehicle back on the road and the vehicle flipped over.

The officer on the scene at the time of reporter’s arrival was Eddie Brown. Brown was not on the scene originally, but had taken over for Officer Tommy Nance who had another appointment shortly after entering the scene of the accident.

According to Brown, he did not believe that the driver of the vehicle was injured, but had left to go to the hospital just in case. Traffic was stopped in one lane for roughly two hours.
